I've been struggling with my Saturday's lately. The hubby has been working, and I feel like my day is filled with transport and shuttle services which results in me not accomplishing anything of note at all as I spend most of the day watching the clock and pacing/driving/shuttling/etc.
This takes some getting used to.
But this Saturday - I decided to tackle a somewhat quick and simple project during one of the longer waiting stretches.
This cabinet is in our kitchen and holds a lot of my scrapbook crap work. I loathe looking at it and keep searching for ways to make it a bit easier on my nerves.
*happy sigh*
I absolutely love Sarah Jane's illustrations, so when she had this calendar on sale in her Etsy shop this past January - I couldn't resist. I picked one up quite quickly.
It took me a couple months (that being over 40 and all) to realize that there are 12 window panes and 12 calendar pages and how perfectly perfect is that and they are so close to the right size (perhaps for next year she'll consider asking my measurements.....) (heee!) that they fell into place quite cooperatively. I added 2 inches of yellow cardstock on the top and bottom, a bit of green scallop on top and a green border on bottom and called it good.
Now I could just sit and look at it all day long and it calms me rather than stressing me.
*happy sigh*

That was a grand idea -- looks darn cute!

FABULOUS idea! looks awesome Torm. i hate seeing through glass cabinets too---but i usually use a staple gun and attach cute-to-look-at fabric to the inside of the doors behind the glass. but this calendar idea is just as perfect!

Amazing. I'm sure ALL of us who viewed this just stopped with a great big WOW...how did she think of that!! I never would have thought of counting the windows either, much less putting the # together with a calendar. You never cease to amaze me.
