The sun was shining and the temperature was just right (about 38. I think)
I know it was above freezing because that mush on the bottom - it was soft. and wet. But if we stayed over to the very left it was just fine - plenty of room. Because we had the sledding hill to ourselves.
Well. Ourselves and whoever that was on the other end of the phone. Wendy says, dad - is that guy new? Dad says, Why? Wendy says, Because he doesn't know anything.
I had the kids all bundled up when the mister pulled into the driveway.
Surprise! We shouted!
Surprise? He queried.
We're going sledding! We shouted! With Glee!
We? He queried.
Oh yes. I said. I can't sled, afterall, because I'm *coughcoughcough* sick - so you sled, I take a few pictures, and then I warm up in the van while youse (that's yooper speak) burn off the rest of your energy.
I'm a little worried about getting stir crazy and shack happy with one vehicle in the winter. Fall was one thing. Winter is totally another. I wasn't letting that van cool in our driveway.
I had prepared a pan pasty especially to cook for the whole 75 minutes we were at the hill which was timed exactly with the setting sun. This is just how my mind works. It can't be helped.
And it was good. The hubby wasn't on the phone the whole time. And no major injuries, just several boot losses, but they've all been recovered.
I bought this hat in 1991. In Finland. I was sold on it because SLL were my initials then. Now they are SLT, but I'm keeping the hat. I have no idea what it really stands for. I think someone should get me a Dodge Ram SLT since those are my initials now.
Worth a shot, right? I'm sure it would help me get past the whole Jeep thing.
After a few runs down the hill, the kids wanted to play on the playground. In the winter it holds a whole new appeal. It was about this time that I went back to the van and warmed up.
Well, after I took just a couple more pictures.
We got home five minutes before the supper beeper beeped.
I'm that good.
And. Sshhhhhh. The kids gobbled right thru the whole pan of pot pasty without even realizing I snuck in a whole red pepper. Now to figure out what to sneak another one into tomorrow.....
