....our house tonight, you'd have enjoyed fresh out the oven chocolate chip cookies and Uncle George on the guitar.
It's a good life.
---------
Speaking of chocolate chip cookies - I'll jot this recipe down here just in case my mom and I both lose it at the same time. It's our family favorite. And the Storm boys always claimed they were a favorite when I made them when I had the kyds over during my teen years, but it's possible that they said that about all the girl's cookies.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Cream Together
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Add
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
Stir in
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional - but I always add 'em)
375 for 8-10 minutes

Yesterday was the first time I made those in a long long time -- they're as yummy as I remembered. I got the recipe years ago from Enid.

I will vouch for you on that, Sharyn. So goo they are, that years ago I sat at your mom's kitchen table and watched every step, so I'd get them right. Bill kept requesting Carols CC cookies. Tip: she chops her walnuts on a (clean) dish towel so they don't fly all over the room.
