The nature hike we were supposed to go on this morning was canceled.
Hubby was working, the teenager sleeping.
The little boys were running around the in-home circle full speed ahead, with the dog at their heels getting ready to start barking and herding.
The day looked to be much nicer than forecasted so we ate a quick lunch and headed down to Greenfield Village for opening day. I'm so glad we did. It was a beautiful day.
I'm always glad to see that Bob still works the loom/weaving building. We like Bob.
We strolled around the village for about 2-1/2 hours and capped it off with our first of the season Custard Cone. The one who should have gotten it in a dish insisted on a cone. (I can really see the Tormanen in this profile shot)
The other two got theirs in cups. I got the cone - something I don't usually get, but hey - it was opening day. Besides - according to my new Fitbit, I've walked 14,682 steps today and still have a few calories left on my daily budget.
Worth it.

As a kid I always loved the glass blowing building - such awesome stuff they could make in there. Plus the process was so intriguing to me. As an adult that weaving building is something I wished I paid closer attention to.
