When I take on a wedding, I always tell the bride that the pictures will take 4-6 weeks for me to proof, and then I'm always amazed at how quickly that 4-6 weeks fly by on this end. I stayed up late last night - well, make that early this morning - trying to get a few more of these done before another week slips by....

He wasn't even remotely interested in posing with the bride and groom
Amy and Luke's wedding was in our temporary church - the school that we're renting until ours is built. They took down the two basketball hoops that were on either side of the pulpit for the wedding, but they are back up now (and you can occasionally see kids fake shooting hoops during the service), and the red curtain is no longer there - that must have been just for the wedding as well, or someone took it home to iron. dunno.
It worked well for the wedding, although it was HOT. Church in the summer is hot as well - and full. Once September starts we'll have two service times again simply because we can't all fit once summer vacationing months are over.
Speaking of church and small world stories - here's another one for you: We have a neighbor a few doors down whose daughter our Wendy has played with quite a bit over the years. They know we go to church on Sunday, and they know there are some things we don't partake in - but what church we go to has never really come up. Not because we hide it, just simply because it never came up.
Then one day last year, after years of our girls playing together the dad asks me if our church is still in Farmington. Somewhat surprised that he knew I went to a church in Farmington, especially being that it's a 30 minute drive for us, I cautiously answered yes, and then asked how he happened to know that.
He says, oh - I grew up right next door to Walt and Ruth (in the photo above, they also attended church in Farmington). To him, that answer made perfect sense.
I was amazed.

The key to the card box might have been lost in the moving shuffle..... oops.
Happy Tuesday!
be good

Beautiful pictures! And huge families! I haven't seen that in a long time! I love your pictures of the ordinary stuff! I read about you (because of the tantalizing tidbit about Walt and Ruth) and we too are trying debt free - getting there -- we are very proud we were able to send both kids to private colleges, but expenses rose faster than our savings so we did take out some loans; we both LOVE the smell of line dried clothes, but alas, our lot is a hill so we had to give up our line when we moved here. Did you know that in France (well, some parts) it's "poor" people who use dryers? The thought is that they don't have enough property for a line dryer. Oh, we do have drying racks in the house so we still sorta line dry -- just not outdoors. And have I told you the story about can openers? One day our 9 year old son came home from a friend's house all excited because they had this thing that could open your cans with just a push of a button! There was a magnet to hold the can -- he had studied it! We admitted we'd heard of them, even had one once, but it broke, non-electric ones don't break - at least not yet! :)
