Saturday was a good day.
I woke up bright and early and got in a three mile walk before the teenager went to work. I've decided that I function much better/get more done when there are other people cycling through the house as well. Too many days completely alone doesn't churn out a very productive me.
Yesterday I was productive.
After my walk, I did Saturday cleaning for a couple hours and then headed out to the state park in Northville with the intention of photographing the crew in the above photograph. Only they weren't all there yet, so I headed to the grocery store and to my dad's for a couple hours - picking up some Panera Bread for my lunch along the way - and then returned to see if there were more people for a photo at 3:30 than there were at noon.
Home by 5:30, I spent a couple hours working on putting my desk back together, and then met up with the ballooning crew at the high school for 7:00. The weather looked a little bit sketchy, so I had thrown my kayak in the back of the van 'just in case'.
It turned out to be a correct hunch - the weather wasn't conducive to flying, so I headed out to the local lake where my husband had already done a lap. I found that this lake also had a scent to it unlike other summers. It's got to be the heat and the lower water levels, although this lake didn't seem to be any noticably lower like Bishop had the night before.
My camera was set for taking flowers, not flying birds, so I missed a few fun shots but a fun attempt anyway. Next time I'll be ready.
Flowers don't move so fast.
Home again, worked on my desk some more.
Uncle George stopped by for a few minutes.
Spent the evening trying to find fun things to do in Michigan today for a middle aged couple without kids.
Our favorite option isn't open for Sunday tours.
