If you recall when I did my first of the month rundown - there were three weddings on our calendar for September. I made it a goal to try and grab at least one snapshot at each one. I long for a small easy to put in my pocket camera for such occasions, but instead - I pulled the battery pack off of my 40D, put on the smallest lens (my 50mm 1.4) and stuck that in my purse. Purses do come in handy some times.
Yesterday couldn't have been ordered up more perfect for Kathy and Dino's outdoor wedding. The weather was perfect and the wedding was lovely.
The company was good. Having just my 50mm, I wasn't able to capture our whole table - but here's Bill. Bill and I can't hear well, so they stuck us by the music speakers. It just so happens that Bill had the father of the groom role at the first wedding this month. This time he just got to sit back and enjoy the eats, company and laughs. Our table laughed. A lot.
Our table had fun with the Crayolas.
Our table complete was Bill and Lynette, Dave and Nancy, Charlie and Marijane and Carol K and myself. Carol and I both came husbandless (mine ended up in Chicago) so this worked out well.
LOTS of laughs.
Dinner was superb, as was the wild blueberry pie we had with our coffee.
The bonus of sitting by the speakers was that we were also right next to the dessert table. I had a carrot cupcake - it was delicious.
My seat also worked out well for this snapshot. Kathy has always loved Birch trees, so she used a birch log to hold their cake. So perfect, so her.
My sister-in-law Sherry was a bridesmaid - love this picture of the two of them. They've been friends for many years.
Karen (Kauppi) Cavell made the shawls. She does stunning work.
And last night's house guests. Sherry and her daughter (and our Goddaughter) Jordanna. Poor Jordanna. The first thing I told the kids when they woke up this morning was, Whoever put the fake spider on the toilet owes Jordanna an apology.
sigh
But anyway....Sherry and I stayed up until 2am catching up and visiting, and it was good. Morning came early, but so worth it. I enjoyed changing into my hoody and sweatpants after church and just putting my feet up.
Now I'm getting anxious for morning - LOVE when the first of the month falls on a Monday.
Life is good.

The late night was indeed worth it! Thanks for rescuing us while garage saleing and your hospitality and of course the inevitable making sure my left behind stuff gets back to me!
