Happy Monday!! It was another full weekend. They tend to get that way once school begins.
- Friday night - the Homecoming parade. I had planned that we'd all go, but it was so much looking like rain and I didn't want to get caught running home in the cold rain with three kids. Because of our location, it's quicker for us to walk than drive. I went alone, the rain began right after I got back home.
- I can't resist a marching band.
- While I was headed to the parade, my husband texted saying hey - Uncle George is coming over tonight.
- When I got home, we got another call from Paul and Enid - they came over too.
- We had roast for supper
- I texted my brother Kevin and told him to come over too
- Visiting, singing, eating of nissu. It was good.
- Saturday began lazy. The boys sorted my buttons for fun
- I took a nap
- Dad and the three kids went to Brian's soccer.
- Dad and three kids went to Lowes to check cabinet hardware
- While they were there, there was a build a fire truck thing and fire trucks to look at/climb on. They did it all.
- Pulled my new photo book out of the mailbox. Petted it.
- We put knobs on the drawers
- We ordered hinges. Nobody local had the ones we needed/wanted. I'm adamant about not rushing the less step and settling for less when it took us two years to get to this point. What's another week.
- They were slightly cheaper online anyway and in the color I decided on.
- I made a purse
- It was good.
- Sunday morning - we went to church. Still liking that 8:30 service.
- We didn't go to this one though - it's not ready yet.
- Sent Allan to the store for milk. Determined to get my money's worth while we're paying for his insurance (he'll pay his own when he starts getting hours again/starts driving for his own reasons and not mine)
- Helped Allan fill out information seeking forms to a few local colleges. Something art related - he's considered everything from being an art teacher to graphic design. It's all art, so that's where he'll aim to start.
- Wendy, dad and George took a field trip to the new build when they went to get pizza for lunch
- Wendy took these photos
- The new church is a big one.
- Roof goes on next Saturday
- It's gonna be a big roof
- Back at home, pizza eaten - Uncle George played a few tunes while waiting for the coffee to brew.
- Then we headed to Parshallville Cider Mill.
- The weather this year had a huge impact on Michigan apples. Some orchards have no apples at all, and those that do are pricing accordingly. These were $8 for a half peck and cider was $11 a gallon
- Price doesn't matter when it comes to doughnuts.
- The kids enjoyed 20 cent candy sticks after their doughnuts
- oh yeah - I went to Salvation Army on Saturday too - Mark needed a white t-shirt before going to school this morning! Got that for 99 cents. Got the Finlandia Hockey sweatshirt for $1. He's pretty fired up on his new sweatshirt.
- Brian. If you look closely you can still see the burn on his nose from when a dinner mishap over a week ago landed a piece of hot lasagna on his head. It's healing nicely.
- The trail was a bit overgrown this year.
- The kids played in the water. Wendy got a wet foot, but other than that they remained dry. Amazing.
- Saw some Kivistos just after saying how unusual it was not to see someone we knew while at the cider mill.
- A good weekend

Great post. I'm sooo nosy about your life. Allan driving - yikes. Church resembles the first one. Hi to P & E. And Kevin & Shannon. I'm with u on the marching bands.
Cider & donuts (warm)....on my bucket list. I'm going to copy that pumpkin & orange mum thing. Have a peaceful day.
