For not knowing which direction I was going to head in Saturday morning - I ended up getting a lot done. It was a good day.
- caught up on laundry (which only lasts 10 minutes)
- baked some brownies (which were gone by 8pm)
- took advantage of President's Day Sales and purchased a new PC (because the old one is not a cat, and therefore only has six lives)
- set the budget for the year (which I usually do in January. don't be judging)
- changed the sheets on several beds (I long for line drying weather)
- made a big dinner (baked potatoes, meatballs, corn....)
- pulled out the sewing machine and mended Brian's snowpants (because I'm determined they'll last the season)
- spent a few hours organizing and purging the filing cabinet (because if there's one thing having to muddle through a deceased parent's paperwork will have you doing - it's purging your own)
- played find Waldo with Mark (but I had to pretend I didn't find all of them first)
- delegated some serious Saturday cleaning (because my kids were whiney and needy)
- purged some living room (because the walls are closing in)
- called it good (because it was)
- Oh. And Greg started working on Wendy's new bed. It's going to hang. From the ceiling. With ropes. (mind you, she changes her room around weekly, so we'll see how THIS goes)
be good.

the new bed sounds awesome..i've seen pics like that...

Sharyn,
As far as snowpants go, I gave up on the sewing machine after someone told me about a nylon rub-on patch. They're made by Bondex and sold in the sewing notions aisle at Walmart. All you do is cut out a patch the size of the rip, peel off the backing, place over the rip, press on with your fingers and VIOLA! You're done! It sticks very well and NO leaks. They come in a package with black, blue, red and white. So our kids have had black snowpants with red patches but it sure extends the life of the snowpants. These patches have been the best invention ever!
