Mark, our six year old first grader, is student of the week in his class this week.
In a nutshell what it means is that this mom has more work to do this week in finding pictures, printing pictures, making him fill out forms of what his favorite stuff is and so forth. It's oh so fun.
Each day means something different. On Monday he had to bring in some favorite items/toys to put on display all week. On Tuesday he had to bring in a picture of his house, his friend, his family, etc. Wednesday brought having to have the big backpack poster filled in and completed.
Today he has to be prepared to answer questions from the class. So I thought I'd help.
Me: What is your favorite color?
Me: Do you have a pet?
Me: What kind of pet?
Mark: a corder bowl. (border collie, I was going to let it slide for the cuteness factor but his older brother corrected him between guffaws)
Me: Is your mother pretty?
Mark: They aren't going to ask me that.
Me: But they might.
Mark: They won't.
Me: But what if they do, what would you answer?
Mark: *sigh* Yes. My. Mom. Is. Pretty.
Me: Good job. You're ready.
