I'm still here!
Part of my absence is due to not finding the time to figure out my new computer and photo program.
Another part is that it's been busy.
Now with school out and the husband having a few days off - I can branch out again and think about a few other things.
Yesterday morning started a little bit rough.
Wendy woke up early with a nightmare.
The dog puked. On Brian.
Brian and I were both trying to hold it in while performing clean up.
The dog got locked in a bedroom by accident.
And ate half a tube of super glue.
I was laughing so hard at the ridiculousness of it all.
Three loads of laundry only due to sick messes.
Seemed like a good night to go visit a mansion. I hadn't been to Meadowbrook Hall since I was Wendy's age, and that year it was for a quilt show. The parts that I remember the most are now part of their behind the scenes tours which is in the summertime. More is closed off than was thirty years ago, and thirty years ago I took lots of pictures with my little 110 camera. Now? The above photo is the only place it is permissable to take photos inside. Alas, and all that.
And while originally it was going to be a girl's night out with my mom, sisters-in-laws, daughter and nieces - it ended up being just our car going as life happens. So me, my mom, Greg, Wendy and niece Elizabeth.
Done with the tour, and the night still young - we headed over to downtown Rochester, only a few minutes away, to check out their lights. It was much busier this year than it was last year with the bonus being that the weather was much more pleasant even though parking was much more difficult.
Fun to see the whole town lit up. Hard to really capture it all in one photo unless you stand in the middle of traffic - which we saw attempted several times.
I went for the nonchalant while walking across the cross-walk approach.
Browsing all the crowded restaurants, we ended up at a little quiet corner deli named Chomp. The service was quick, the fries were delicious and we all enjoyed what we ordered - me, a sandwich called the nancy. Turkey, Avocado, sprouts, cranberries, some type of cheese and something else I'm forgetting all on top of a pretzel bun.
I'd order it again.
As for today, nobody has puked yet, so we're a step up from yesterday.
