Yesterday was a busy day for the boys at school. Hat day, guitar day, library, Mark's Sensei came to his class, show and tell and after school swim.
In my mind I was thinking that they'd be pretty tired by the time they got home from swimming, but they didn't seem to be. I brought up the idea of the Outdoorama to Greg and the boys, and we were out the door in under five minutes with Friday night admittance coupons printed and in hand.
Since they weren't tired after swimming, we decided to throw them in the Zorbs for a bit. They had a blast.
Friday night ended up being ideal.
It was not at all crowded.
We saw the whole show, and got in with discounted coupons.
We made it in time to see the dog/frisbee show and were able to sit on the bleachers.
We enjoyed ice cream
after enjoying beef jerky samples
And while Greg didn't find a few of the things he was looking for, he seemed pretty pumped about finding a refurbished Leatherman that still had the diamond file and was half the cost of a new one.
And we bumped into Greg's aunt and uncle soon after we got there.
I can tell I was tired, because I should have taken this photo from the angle that would have shared the sand sculptor dude making a castle.
Funny: The boys saw the sand and asked if they could dive in. Greg, looking at the time and what we had left to see - said no. At the same time I was saying yes while saying he could go wander the last few aisles on his own if he wanted.
Mark says, "whew. I thought maybe you were punishing us for something by saying no"
As for today -
- a little bit of home catch-up
- I'll be taking the boys to the high school robot competition with Brian's robotic team
- Greg is taking the CPL permit course today - a ten hour class. edit: (concealed pistol license or CCW, carry a concealed weapon permit)
- Wendy has swimming this evening
Time to get busy.....
