And just like that - we're into our second week of 2017. And it's still cold.
I was so stir crazy and shack happy yesterday, I scheduled not one, not two - but FIVE getaways.
And....because we are who we are, and picking dates for getaways is like throwing darts at the calendar and hoping to get a date without any conflicts - I bought insurance on four of those five. If, by some odd chance, they all work out - we'll be getting to South Carolina, Missouri, Gatlinburg, Lake Michigan and Boyne this year. The perks of the time share is that we paid for it long ago, now it's just a matter of finding dates that work and hoping they sync with availability. I'm also still working on trying to figure out if we can make it up north and find a place to stay for the Pennala reunion. I looked at some cabins, but the ones I'm familiar with were already taken.
As for this past week -
Greg made it home from Chicago on Friday, but not without incident. On his last day of Chicago work, he swerved hard to miss an erratic driver and ended up taking out his driver's side front end with a post. I'll be dropping it off at the body shop tomorrow morning, so we'll be down one vehicle for a bit. It's a good thing we have Wendy's van for back up.
On a personal level, I've been keeping up with journals, cleaning, diet and more. My ocd tendencies have been in overdrive lately.
Up and coming this week we've got - Greg getting back into the swing of work at the office, a full week of school/work for me and the kids, a swim meet, Allan begins his Junior year at Ferris, and the usual karate, swimming, PTO, and yearbook stuff. I've also prepped my debt-free/journal post, so that should make it onto the blog this week if time doesn't get away from me.
For now - fingers crossed for outdoor recess tomorrow. The hourly has it super close to the cut-off.
Until later -
