Today was the first day of a two day fifth grade camp.
Camp isn't a parent chaperoned activity, but it was the need for a parapro that had me along for the ride and luck that had Mark in my group.
The high ropes course was optional, and many kids said right from the get go - NO WAY. Going in, I knew that Mark would be in the no group simply based on his history of nerves when it comes to heights. It didn't make any sense to me then that he was geared up and working his way through the practice course.
He passed the practice course with flying colors and was FIRST in line to climb the ladder to the high ropes course.
I didn't even get a chance to suggest switching out of his boots into his tennies.
Blew me away. I couldn't wait to tell Greg and Brian.
Tomorrow we go back again.
And while I thought I dressed warm enough for the weather today - I'll be dressing warmer tomorrow. And remembering my coffee. And more hand warmers to disperse about my body parts.
