- Today was my fourth time snowshoeing since I got my snowshoes for Christmas. I think I found a few spots that actually had a full four inches of snow.
- Today's funny: The substitute teacher had mentioned how she's friends with one of the student's moms.
Another student, who we'll call Gavin, pipes up and says: Are you friends with my mom? She has a son named Gavin.
- Today during inside recess with the second graders, I was challenged to another game of Battleship. I'm picking up on the fact that the majority of second graders don't actually know how to strategically play Battleship. I now have a new mission.
- With the fourth graders, I played Jenga.
And I'm challenging them to a new skill. Just before lining up, I showed the few who were paying attention how to catch a quarter off their elbow. I promised them that I would add a quarter each time we have indoor recess.
Young friend: Oooooh! I know someone who can do FIVE!
Ha. My record is 25. Makes quite a mess when I miss, but I tested it last week after a 30 year lapse in playing the game, and I can still do it.
I'm kinda hoping we don't have 25 days of indoor recess left in the year though.....
