Oh hey - my blog still works.
The 17 year old in the house got tired of waiting for me to blog again and decided to friend me on Facebook instead.
Time to brush this thing off.
I do like blogging. It's just that when I fall behind, I have a hard time finding the right spot to jump in again. This morning I had fun taking pictures, just for fun. Therefore, today seems good. Besides, it's damp and grey outside. Weather more conducive to editing photos and blogging than, say, going for a walk.
This is the first year in many that we aren't out of town for spring break. We've been tending to go on vacation this time of the year, mainly because it's the easiest time for my husband to join us. Summer is often hard to schedule and super busy for him. But this year - staycation. I felt myself looking forward to ten days at home, but already they are flying by too quickly and I'm not getting near the things done that I'd hoped to.
BUT, we did get to the zoo. Potter Park Zoo still has their winter pricing this week, so no cost for parking and $3 for adults to get in rather than the $12 that it will soon be.
We had gone to an exotic animal event at the library yesterday, and I ended up being disappointed that I hadn't brought my good camera, so today I hauled out the 300mm lens to make up for it. The time that I waited for this Artic Fox to yawn had me wishing that I'd also brought along my monopod.
With the 300mm, one is able to get a really close look at some interesting teeth. You're welcome.
This one celebrated a birthday two days ago.
My husband is celebrating a birthday today. I made [carrot] cake. Party when Wendy gets home from work.
This one and I were having a stare down. I didn't win.
Can't you just almost hear them purring?
I could have hung out at the big cat's cages all day. The boys though? Not so much.
Brian found this one disturbing, so we didn't hang out at this one too long either.
It takes awhile for Mark to reveal his humor, you have to get to know him first. He makes me laugh daily.
I didn't think of it until we got home, but I should have had the boys take a picture of my mom and I in one of these as well.
