It's been awhile since I've shared what my husband has been up to. He still goes out in the garage nightly as part of his wind down routine, still carves and is preparing to make some knives with that anvil I found him for Christmas.
But first, he needed to put together a forge. Of course. He put together this one with an old propane tank. Here he's burning it to help get rid of the remainder of the paint. And stuff.
He then needed to seal up the gap. He ran over to a cousin's house and borrowed a welder, bartering for helping the cousin out with a few welding projects of his own.
I don't venture out in the garage often, by choice, so I don't have the after shot of when this piece was welded. He still needs a few more dollars with a materials to finish it off and put it to work.
While waiting for the funds, he's gathered a few scraps of this and that and made a bellows. The leather is an old jacket from our front closet that I finally managed to convince him was WAY out of style, and works splendidly for this project. I'm told that this one is actually a prototype and he still needs to make another one just a little bigger.
He put his carving skills to work on the wind design.
He's putting my project productivity to shame.
I'm thinking I need to add a few projects of my own to the summer to do list.
