layout made using Technique Tuesday's January Studio AE - Bring on the Love
I don't know about where you are, but where I am - we're bringing in the new year with a hold onto your hat style. The winds are picking up, and we've made sure all the flashlights have batteries. Just in case. While I'm looking forward to the new year, new fresh start and a clean slate - I had to laugh when at 12:17 am this morning, a doorknob fell off into my hand. The first thought that jumped into my head was - this is not a good sign.
And then I laughed.
We tend to roll with the punches, both good and bad - and I know that we will tackle 2012 no differently than we have all the other years.
Do I have goals? Yes.
Did I complete all my goals for 2011. No.
Some things never change.
Some of the things I'm looking forward to in 2012:
- completing my in-house bike ride to Oregon (while trying not to beat up myself too badly for not having completed it in 2011)
- smaller and more frequent goals so as not to overwhelm myself
- work on not overwhelming myself
- Better focus. I'm beginning the year with a few less commitments, so I'm looking forward to working harder and dedicating more time to the commitments I do have. Simplifying.
- Hopefully more hot air balloons
- More travels
- Less debt
- Some sewing projects - starting already this week (I love to sew most in the winter)
- More focus on self - while making sure it doesn't become selfish (a fine line)
- Hopefully a long hoped for new work space
And more creating.
Some projects I've already started on:

In 2012, I'll be doing and sharing Project Life. I'm excited about this. Above - my cover page.
I'm excited about this concept because it's more weekly - and hopefully won't overwhelm me as past daily projects did. I hoping by it being weekly, I'll be able to still keep up with it when winter turns to spring and our life turns from calm to full speed ahead as it does every year.

The top of my album. I'll share more on what album I'm using when I feel ready to eat some humble pie. A past daily project that never got real far.

More detail on my cover page. I wanted to use our Christmas card on the cover page since it captures us right now, home and heart, kids and health. Since there wasn't a 4 x 9" spot in any of my page protectors, I simply cut it at 3 and 6 and slid it in. I like it.
Besides Project Life, I'm also hoping to do more art journaling. I'm constantly inspired by those who do art journaling - and I itch to try my hand at it. I dug out an empty journal a few days ago and began playing.

2012 - some of my hopes and goals. All with my .005 pigma micron, and a few of my Copics.

I love yellow. Some paint, my microns, Copics, a stencil and a W. Wadworth poem.

And a few more pages prepped and ready, following this tutorial here.
It's gonna be a great year.
