One of my favorite things about fall is pulling out the heavy denim and corduroy quilts. mmmmm......
It was Native American Day at school this week. Allan came home with a dream catcher, a rain stick, a letter written on a hide...and a corn husk doll. The corn husk doll is my favorite.
Last night we dug out the hot water bottle. And the drugs. Wendy had her first fall cold/ear infection. It ran a tad later than usual this year...normally someone is sick for Halloween.
A witches hat on the trailer hitch. A sure sign that Halloween was not too long ago. I was so sure that I had put everything away. The funny thing is..nobody even wore this hat.....
450-500 kids between the ages of 5-15, 1/2 of them pour out the doors between Sunday school and church. They put their Bibles and Chatecisms in the car, transfer play clothes to other rides, find friends, search for mom and dad, and then turn around to go back in for church. Typical Sunday....
I had to switch this one to b/w, which I'm afraid I'm not real good at yet. I couldn't quite take the doll in color tho...it disturbed me. haha! This makes our sandbox look rather neglected, but in truth...it is not, it's played in daily. But I think the kids dig more than play toys in there.
Everyday...for breakfast or lunch, sometimes both...Wendy eats peanut butter open face sandwiches with faces made out of honey on top. Let me tell you...it ain't easy making faces out of honey.
My hubby's well used carving bag. Crammed full of tools, he uses this almost daily. A bit after dinner, a companion out of town, creative therapy always at the ready.
Today and tomorrow's pictures will be courtesy of my hubby. He had my camera from 8am - 10pm today, and will again tomorrow. It's painful, I tell you...but I'm glad he's taking pictures of his class. These are the types of carvings he's learning this weekend. This one, a sample done by the instructer. Fun stuff!
This time of the year we have all jackets on the hooks: light and heavy for 5 people. And backpacks, book bags, camera bags.... I think a room full of just hooks would be delightful.
I rarely use my dryer. Very! rarely. In the spring, summer and fall...I hang everything on the line outside. But on a 27 degree day like today...I use drying racks and a rod across the laundry room.
Saturday night is tub night. We recently dug the dog towel out of storage, and it's once again become a favorite.
Every Sunday morning...as fast as I physically can..I whip thru all the clothes in my closet in an attempt to find a nice combination. I cast the neglected choices in a pile, and whatever I'm wearing when the clock strikes 8:35 is what I have to walk out the door in. Bah.
They're not just catalogs...they're circling catalogs. Everytime one hits the mailbox the kids sit down together and circle everything they'd like to have. Ah...to be a kid again.
I found enough ingredients in the cupboard to make blueberry buckle. mmmmmmm........
