The thing with photographing hot air balloons is that it just doesn't get old. They fly during that perfect golden hour in the evening, and they only fly on the great weather nights. Last night I was really enjoying the cloud patterns, and shooting from launch to landing with my brother's 10mm lens. I've pretty much decided that I need my own 10mm before balloonfest next year. I wrote it on my goal list.
He flew over Thompson Lake again, directly over the cemetery. I could see him through the trees, and I was whistling like a bird to get his attention - but, well, Denny doesn't know that I can whistle like a bird so he thought it was a bird. *wink*
One of these days I'm hoping to be out on the kayak when the balloon gets this close to the water.
Balloons tend to draw a crowd. This crowd is a little smaller than what it would have been on the other side of M-59, where we originally thought he was going to land.
Seriously love that sun.
*happy sigh*

Other stuffs.
We have a 6 yr old fever kid in the house. Not sure what his temp is because I break thermometers with regularity, but he's pretty warm. He crawled into our bed last night, and the night was long - he kept having bad dreams. He was growling and all sorts of fidgety somewhere during the 3:00 hour, so I asked him what's wrong, and he said "All the big boys keep TEASING ME!" And a little later he popped up and hollered, STOP IT!! Another hour or so later - GIVE ME BACK MY HAT!!! MOM! They stole my HAT!
His fists were clenched, he was ready to start swinging.
He's finally resting now. Here's hoping the fever broke.

This time next week we'll be walking up the hill for the first day of school

We're working on training the new neighbor. She rang the doorbell three times within 14 minutes yesterday. "Is Wendy done with her chores yet?" She's a cute girl - just needs to be trained. *wink*

The teenager is working again today - he's lovin' it.

I'll share more wedding photos soon.
