Mark got a little ticked off last week telling me, "Mom, Wendy always has the feeding Tippy job"
and he was right. She's had it for a long time. The thing I have to remind myself of at times, is everyone needs a chore, and everyone needs to feel needed. We switched up the chore chart and put this youngest of ours on dog feeding duty. He's charged. He feels important, he feels like he's contributing to the running of this place we call home. This IS important.
Besides, dog feeding is the best way to get the kids to learn how to break eggs. This kid could make his own omelet, no problem - he's helped and witnessed his dad doing it so many times - but he still needs to learn how to really crack an egg. One week on dog feeding duties, and this morning he cracked an egg perfectly - no mess. We did the celebratory fist bump.
And you'll notice a dog valentine on the wall - Mark made that for Tippy in preschool. Over Tippy's dog dish seemed the appropriate place to hang it.
And Kesti, I know you're jealous about our dog's water dish. (They don't sell Jilbert's ice cream in Arizona)
Happy Monday! It's a full and crazy one at this house!
why does the dog get an egg in her food?

You're really going to miss that kid when he goes all day every day.
