Mark has been making himself eggs for breakfast about six days of the week since quarantine began.
Yesterday he switched it up and made himself some puuroa (oatmeal).
He went on to spend the better part of his morning working on a solar oven assignment.
I filled my pill container and ordered more vitamins.
I take a daily Claritin and a multi. I've learned to love the daily sorter because I'm no longer left wondering, "Did I take that already today?"
I originally thought that those vitamins were helping with hot flashes, but it turns out that I had no idea what hot flashes really were, or that they were only helping with the little warm up ones that began last fall. Or maybe they are helping, and they could be even crazier.
My quarantine is filled with some entertaining milestones.
Have I mentioned how messy our cottonwoods are? The daily sweeping.
Thwarted. For the second time this week.
Mowing is one of my favorite chores. I think he only mowed once last year.
I do try and let the boys do it now and then, but I honestly love it so much. I love outdoor chores that double as exercise. Always have.
It wasn't nearly as nice yesterday as I had anticipated it to be. Mark's solar oven melting was an all day project.
It was still and damp. I never did hang clothes on the line. I had one towel hanging on there from a clean up the day before, and it took until late afternoon to dry.
Speaking of clean ups....while I was vacuuming, I noticed water on the floor.
We've been battling some ice build up for awhile now. It was time to give it a thorough thawing out.
I think this was a record build up. The last one wasn't that long ago, and normally it just forms on one side and is brought to my attention when it becomes hard to shut the freezer. This time it was more evenly distributed and freezer closing was never an issue.
Greg: This shouldn't be happening - this is a new appliance.
Me: Well...I'm not sure you can call ten plus years new anymore when it comes to appliances.
Mark's baking project got put on hold while Greg and I took over the kitchen.
Thanks to Google and a hair dryer, I think we've got it running better than ever.
Greg: Can you hand me a toothpick, or a long pokey thing?
Me: Hahahahahha - you said long pokey thing!
Going on 28 years over here.
Floor cleaned, freezer fixed and refilled, coolers put away and Mark was able to get back to his baking.
I headed out for a four mile walk, picking up my mom along the way.
Lots of people fishing along the shore, and lots of folks out on the lake. This was probably the nicest part of the day.
We bumped into Charlie (Greg's cousin) and Marijane, and enjoyed a nice visit. As my mom said, it's so nice to see and talk to people!
I was gone longer than I had intended, and got a text when I reached the neighbors yard asking "Are you coming home to eat?"
I walked in the door and said, Yep!
Sat right down at the table with them in time for shrimp and rice.
I can't make out what my lilacs are going to do this year. My back, darker lilacs are only half perked. I think they are going to have an off year - but I'll give them a few more days to change their mind.
The peonies came up nicely. They are still a little bit out.
My front lilacs have more blooms than ever, but nothing open yet.
--------------
My camera glitched on me in the morning, so I lost the picture of Mark bringing me coffee.
I didn't notice until loading this photos that Brian escaped the lens all day. He likes to stay tucked in his room, reading.
I didn't get the windows washed as originally planned.
Today is looking to be rainy all day.
I love peonies and don't recall seeing a pic of yours on the ol' blog...have I? Beautiful bush of them getting ready, be sure to post when they're up! (-:
PS...I was going to fix "HO" as my "name" but thought it was a funny mistype, did you know H&O are right next to J&P? Anyway...a little covid rambling near the end of a rainy cool day...
